Green Tree Python

This another one of my pets!

The Green Tree Python  is a very colorful snake.  The average green tree python reaches about 5 feet (2 meters) and starts out a bright yellow when they are young and turn a bright green as they get older (all though some some start out a deep orange then turn yellow as they get older.)

The Green Tree Python comes from the rain forests of northern Australia,  the Solomon islands the Aru Islands and New Guinea.

They are very similar in colors and looks to the Emerald Tree  Boa but are not very closely related.  Species like these are a grate example of parallel evolution they evolved the same way and hunt and act almost identical.  One big difference between them is the python lays eggs and the boa gives live birth!
